On this episode, the hosts are joined by Dr. Shyama Vermeersch from the University of Groningen (Germany). She discusses her transition from Egyptology to zooarchaeology, her passion for animal bones (but not fish or tiny mammal bones!), and all about her research on subsistence and agriculture in the Bronze and Iron Age southern Levant. Dr. Vermeersch also shares her work on bringing the importance of gender equity to the forefront in the sciences and how we can create a more inclusive field.
